VICTORY in Game Industry

The popularity of massively multiplayer online games is increasing on a steady pace. These games allow the user to customize a multitude of objects of the game world.

There are online repositories on the internet that offer relevant 3D content, either for free or for a small fee. In such a repository, the user can search for content using text-based search and also browse through categories of 3D objects. These online repositories add value to a game, whether this game is commercial or open-source.

What VICTORY could add to those repositories is the ability to search, based on 3D similarity and context and also share 3D content among users of those communicating using the P2P interface proposed.

The VICTORY framework could also contribute to the customization/added value of 3D video games, both on home entertainment systems (such as personal computers and video game consoles) and on emerging mobile entertainment platforms (like mobile phones, handheld videogames and PDAs).

The use of VICTORY would facilitate the retrieval and the exchange of game avatars, objects, levels and in general any 3D object that could be added in a game.
